KISS = ENERGY! 11 October 2008
As part of Kiss Confidential we’ve been conducting discussion groups with the Kiss audience. For some of these groups we’ve given the attendees a pre-task, asking them to draw us/put together a page of images on what Kiss means to them.

Our focus groups enjoyed this task, making scrap books to describe what Kiss means to them. They associate Kiss with good times, a radio station they listen to for fun and something which provides them with energy. It’s this fun and energy which makes Kiss an important part in their lives, whether providing them with energy in the morning to go to work with a smile on their face, or providing the liveliness at the start of a legendary night out.
This energy was represented by many of the group choosing brightly coloured images of various technology gadgets (iPods, mobile phones, laptops); also fashion magazine logos, make-up and gaming consoles. The Progressive Youths in the group also depicted how Kiss is in tune with up-and-coming music and trends. Others picked up on how Kiss helps UK artists and tackles the serious issues which affect young people today. Additional words they used included ‘fashion’ ‘competitions’ ‘news’ and ‘reality.’ It provides a voice for the younger generation, while also keeping them up to date with what’s going on in the world.
Below are two further examples from the groups.
